For years, Tingbjerg has been labelled a ‘tough ghetto’. Now it’s the site of a social experiment: families from the well-educated, white middle class are hand-picked to buy newly built houses in Tingbjerg at a reduced price – and with a clause binding them to the area for four years. In return, they are expected to contribute to the development of the area. The intentions are good, but what about the realities? And what if the existing residents are happy with their neighbourhood as it is?
